Skin Rejuvenation (RF Microneedling)

The SomaRejuv RF Microneedling device is one of the best used Devices on the market.

The treatment is a minimally invasive skin rejuvenation technique that involves using tiny needles to puncture the skin and stimulate the production of collagen. There’s currently a huge buzz around this clinically proven treatment, which is widely regarded among aesthetic practitioners as an effective solution for treating loose, sagging skin, stretch marks, enlarged pores and inflammatory acne.

Radio frequency and micro-needling have individually been used as effective anti-ageing treatments for a number of years. But the ability to offer both treatments together at the same time – with the radio frequency providing added heat, much like a laser – in order to deliver a more intense treatment and exceptional results, is something new. Call Us to find out more about RF Microneedling and the many benefits it can offer your patients.

Stimulate the skin with laser-like precision

We have chosen radio frequency (RF) micro needling which is a step up from micro needling, this device also uses radio frequency, a form of heat energy, into the deeper skin layers whilst maintaining the integrity of the skin. This differs from laser rejuvenation as it does not cause damage to the surface of the skin with minimal downtime and no complications in regards to sun exposure.

The gold coated micro-needles pierce the skin and deliver RF energy beneath the epidermis. The trauma caused beneath the skin stimulates a healing response from the body which encourages collagen formation amongst other components of the body's natural healing process. As a result, you will see a tightening and plumping effect which improves with time.

You will notice results after two weeks. This healing process will continue over the next few months and you will continue to see results up to 6-9 months after your treatment. We aid this process by pumping active ingredients into your skin specific to your needs.

This treatment is particularly beneficial for acne scarring, it can also be used around the delicate eye area, décolletage, hands and any other body part you wish to treat.

This stimulates Collagen regeneration and new elastic production processes begins.

Fractional lasers penetrate the skin causing an inverse triangle of damage to the epidermis. The deeper the target area the more extensive the damage. But the RF SomRejuv delivers precisely controlled RF energy only to the target areas, adjusting the depth selectively with minimally invasive micro-needles. This means minimal damage to the skin epidermis, shorter treatment times and less pain with faster recovery times.

What to expect after 1 treatment?

After your very first Fractional-RF Treatment, Your skin may feel tight, you will begin to feel the difference in your skin, as it gradually becomes softer, smoother and fresher. Fine lines around your eyes and acne scars will noticeably fade, along with uneven skin colour and the brown spots caused by ageing and sun exposure.

After a few treatments:

Your skin will take on a distinctly youthful and healthy appearance. Even deep acne scars will gradually disappear and your skin will look smoother and more refined.

What is Fractional-RF used for?

Fractional-RF is excellent for treating deep acne scars, stubborn pigmentation including melasma. It also provides an overall skin rejuvenation and refreshes the skin so new skin looks younger, softer and smoother.

What is the downtime?

There may be a few days of redness and mild flaking, with most patients reporting that they look "sunburnt". However there is minimal discomfort and patients may apply make-up immediately after treatment and return to routine activities if needed. A few patients may also notice mild bronzing that lasts anywhere from 3 to 14 days, depending on the treatment level. This is a result of a high treatment level and is not an atypical side effect. You can however discuss with your practitioner on the optimal treatment level to suit your skin and lifestyle.

How many sessions do I need?

Clinical studies suggest that 3 to 5 treatments spaced about 1 month apart to produce a gradual remodelling of dermal matrix components, until complete healing occurs and healthy tissue containing collagen and elastin replaces old epidermal and dermal tissue. Over a period of 1 to 3 months, clinical improvement in photo-aged skin correlates with dermal repair and positive skin changes.
